The Crosswater Cucina Cook looks like many other modern kitchen taps, but it has a hidden secret; you can turn it on without even touching it. Some might say that it’s magic; others might just say that it’s science; all we can say is that it’s fantastic and so convenient. How many times have you had filthy hands and had to use them to turn the tap on, in turn transferring a lot of that dirt to the tap? Or you’ve got your hands full of fruit and veg that you want to rinse but you can’t turn the tap on without putting some of it down? With the sensor, you just wave you hand in front of it and, like magic, water starts to flow.

The Cucina Cook does still have a normal lever for when you want more control over the flow of the water. It’s also required because the sensor only activates the cold water, so if you want hot water you will need to use the lever like normal.

Like almost all modern kitchen taps, the Crosswater Cucina uses ceramic disc cartridges to control the flow of water. These are much easier to use and longer-lasting than traditional rubber washers, and they also ensure a complete seal when you turn the tap off, so no more annoying drips.

One quick tip. Don’t go forgetting that you have a Cucina sensor tap but your friends and family might not. There’s nothing more embarrassing than waving your hand at a tap and nothing happening!
